Why does my shower head leak when the bath faucet is running
When the faucet in the tub is on, up above the shower head leaks a little
bit, its more of running water than a drip, what do l need to do to fix
it? thanks!!Also, where the head screws into the shower head faucet it
leaks out of the threads as well, however it doesnt spray very far, would
a new o-ring fix both problems?
Take it apart, clean it up, put a little Teflon plumbers tape
on it, replace the O rings and put it back together. Problem solved.
Shouldn't take more than 40 minuets start to finish, an hour if you work
slow.
With tub/showers you a have what is called a diverter. It
causes the water to be directed to the tub spout or the shower head. I
think that maybe the diverter is old. If the diverter is located on the
top of the tub spout, you will have to replace the tub spout. Most of them
are screwed on, but they also have some with a hex bolt located underneath
& the tub spout just slides off & on. As for the water spraying out of the
threaded area of ur shower head you can remove the shower head & put teflon tape on the threads of the shower arm to stop that problem or maybe you might have a crack in the threaded part of the shower head. If ur shower head doesn't have a washer in it, it will also leak.
Mine does too, I was told to put some of that white tape around
the threads and it will stop. You gotta buy some white tape especially
made for the threads.
